How to search YouTube videos by date

No matter you use the YouTube website or application, you can’t easily find videos by date. You need to use the Google search engine on your computer and filter for a certain date range. YouTube’s own filtering function can only search for videos uploaded in the past hour, today, this week, this month, and this year. Search from the Google website, you can find videos from a certain date range starting in 2009.
Method 1: Search for YouTube videos from Google website
1. On a Mac or Windows computer, open a web browser and go to https://google.com. You need to use a Mac or Windows computer because the date range that the mobile version of the Google search engine can filter is as limited as the YouTube application.
2. Enter an entry in the search bar. There is a search bar in the middle of the screen, you can enter keywords to find a certain YouTube video.
For example, if you type “Li Ziqi”, you can search for all Li Ziqi’s videos on Google.
3. Click on the video. It is just below the search bar at the top of the page. After clicking it, only the video search results will be displayed on the screen.
4. Click Tools. It is at the bottom right side of the search bar, and a drop-down menu will open when you click it.
5. Click the drop-down menu labeled “Unlimited Source” and select youtube.com. Now you will only see search results for videos from YouTube.
6. Click the drop-down menu labeled “Unlimited Time” and select a custom date range. A small calendar window will pop up on the screen.
7. Select the date range. Use the calendar on the right side of the window to select a date range for each of the blank columns next to From and To.
You can also skip the calendar and directly enter the date range you want to find in the format of “day, month, year”.
8. Click to start searching. After entering the date range, all videos uploaded within the date range will be displayed on the screen.
For example, search for “Li Ziqi” video on Google, and use the filtering function to customize the date range from September 1, 2019 to September 1, 2021. The videos uploaded by Li Ziqi’s YouTube channel during this period will be filtered out. , And other videos with her name.
Method 2: Search for videos on the YouTube website
1. Open the https://youtube.com website or the YouTube mobile app. You can use a Windows or Mac computer, iPhone, iPad or Android device to do this, but the scope of customization of the filtering function is limited.
2. Enter video keywords in the search bar, and then press ↵ Enter key (Windows) or ⏎ Return key (Mac). There will be a text field in the middle of the top of the page for you to search.
If you use a mobile app, tap the search icon at the top of the screen, enter a search term, and then tap the go key on the virtual keyboard.
3. Click Filter on the computer, or tap ⋮ on the mobile device, and then tap Filter. In either case, all the filter conditions that can be applied to the search results will then be listed on the screen.
4. Select the “Upload Date” option. Regardless of whether it is a computer or mobile application, you can only filter videos uploaded in the past hour, today, this week, this month, or this year.
