TikTok launches app for 2020 and 2021 LG smart TVs

On October 9th, according to foreign media reports, TikTok launched an app for LG’s smart TVs in 2020 and 2021.
This application was launched in the recent webOS 5.0 and webOS 6.0 versions, and the firmware update began on October 7, and will be launched on older 2019 TV sets in the “next months”.
TikTok confirmed that the app will be launched in the UK, France and Germany, and can be used on its Samsung TV, Android TV and Fire TV. It is reported that the application is not yet available on LG Smart TVs in the United States.
TikTok has been optimized for vertical mobile viewing, so it remains to be seen how the new app will play on large smart TV screens. This initiative aims to strengthen the audience in various fields, and can also obtain higher advertising costs from TV viewing.
