Dice releases technology work report for the third quarter of 2021, the industry is slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels

The 2021 3rd Quarter Technology Work Report released by the recruitment platform Dice shows that Philadelphia’s work on diversification has received great attention from the industry. It is reported that the “PHL: Most Diverse Tech Hub” project aims to improve the technical skills of the future talent pipeline, especially for those non-ferrous people who intend to go deep into the science and technology career. As a technology center, Philadelphia has been well-known for a long time. In Dice’s new report, companies such as Comcast, Accenture, and Deloitte are all representative large-scale regional employers.
Secondly, the report noticed that there are many local universities that breed and select technical talents and the affordability of living costs. It can be seen that the average technical salary in this area is 91,670 US dollars, and the median house price is about 330,000 US dollars.
Between the second and third quarters of 2021, Philadelphia’s technology job recruitment increased by about 10%. Among the top 50 technology cities, Philadelphia rose slightly from 19th in the second quarter to 17th in the third quarter.
At the same time, the District of Columbia (DC) fell to 8th place, Pittsburgh slipped to 31st place, and Baltimore fell to 42nd place.
The top technical positions required in Philadelphia include software development/engineer, project manager, network engineering/architect, network security engineer, business analyst, IT project manager, system engineer/project manager and other positions.
Among the top-ranked technology employers, we once again saw organizations such as Deloitte, Comcast, Accenture, VMware, University of Pennsylvania/Penn Medicine, IBM, and Wells Fargo Bank.

In addition, Dice pointed out that after experiencing the early growth in 2021, the quarter-on-quarter growth in the second to third quarters began to be flat, which means that the continued high demand for technical personnel in almost all industries/vertical fields may have stabilized.
This stabilization may be a good sign of economic recovery, and it is expected to return to the pre-pandemic growth level after a period of time in the future.

The recruitment information for the third quarter shows that, in addition to SQL, Java, Python, Linux and other skills across the United States, companies are also looking for technical talents who cover more fields and have a deep understanding of core concepts such as software development/project management.
