Nearly half of British consumers feel pressured to buy Christmas gifts

Christmas is one of the most beautiful festivals of the year in the West. On this day, people will gather with their family and friends, send gifts to each other, and spend a wonderful day. It should have been a happy Christmas, but I never thought that many British people would think that the holiday is a stressful thing for them.

Some people think that Christmas is also a drain of time, money and reason for them. People with large families may worry about receiving gifts from relatives, or have to visit relatives they don’t particularly like. At the same time, activities such as decorating the Christmas tree and buying Christmas gifts will put a certain amount of pressure on them.

When it comes to Christmas, it must be inseparable from buying Christmas gifts. However, according to foreign media reports, nearly half of Britons celebrating Christmas said that buying gifts is a stressful thing for them. The source of pressure comes from the cost of buying gifts, the channels of purchase, and the need for gifts to be delivered on time, etc., which will put a certain pressure on their economy and time.

In addition, there are also British people who believe that receiving Christmas gifts they don’t want will also create a certain amount of pressure because they don’t know how to dispose of these items. The placement of decorations and the storage of decorations after Christmas has passed will also put a certain amount of pressure on these people.

Among British adults celebrating Christmas, there are gender differences in many Christmas activities. British men are twice as likely to not put Christmas decorations (17%) as women (9%); men (13%) are twice as likely to not wrap gifts as women (6%). Overall, one in 11 Britons celebrating Christmas will not wrap gifts.

In addition to the pressure of buying gifts, about three-tenths of British people find that buying Christmas food is also a stressful thing for them. In addition, when meeting with family members, receiving guests and having to visit some relatives they don’t like can also cause stress. About one-fifth of Britons said they would feel anxious about the need to see friends and family.
