DRM protection of streaming video websites is cracked, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon are affected

A GitHub user named “Widevinedump” released the code to allow others to download HD videos from streaming platforms, including Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. The code was later deleted, but it is not ruled out that it has been circulated on the Internet.

Digital rights management is usually represented by the initials DRM and is an anti-piracy tool. Widevine DRM has different levels. L1 is the safest, followed by L2 and L3. Although the latter can still protect content from being downloaded easily, it seems possible to bypass its protection. A developer of “Widevinedump” has released a series of download tools on GitHub. Including “DISNEY-4K-SCRIPT”, “Netflix-4K-Script”, “WV-AMZN-4K-RIPPER”, “HBO-MAX-BLIM-TV-Paramount-4k-Downloader”, “APPLE-TV- 4K -Downloader’ etc.

According to a foreign media “TorrentFreak” report, some sources confirmed that these codes are real and usable, but warned that if users use such codes, their accounts may be blocked by the streaming platform. Widevinedump has now deleted all data on the website, but it still does not rule out that the relevant code will be circulated on the Internet.
