According to the weather forecast, Greenwich Town will have flash flood warnings from Monday night (10/25) to Tuesday night (10/26).

This is due to the expected prolonged heavy rain from coastal storms, as well as the possibility of local flash floods, strong winds, coastal flooding and beach erosion.

Rainfall can sometimes reach up to 1 inch per hour. Tuesday’s gusts could reach 50 mph.

Rainfall is likely to begin on Monday night and get heavier during the day on Tuesday. Rainfall can sometimes reach up to 1 inch per hour. Gusts could reach 50 mph on Tuesday afternoon.

The Roads Department of the Ministry of Public Works will send staff out to clean up the drainage structures, including catchment grilles, endwalls and storm grille cages, in preparation for the storm.

In view of the recent reasonable number of fallen leaves, the Ministry of Public Works requires residents to do their part to ensure that the drainage structures on or near their property are unimpeded, free of debris, leaves and any other obstacles.

The Department of Public Works is committed to providing services that are vital to Greenwich Town and its residents.

This includes, but is not limited to, highway/road maintenance, sewer management, stormwater management, waste disposal and recycling, building inspections and improvements to public infrastructure.
