Netflix fires transgender employee strike organizer for leaking trade secrets

Netflix has recently been caught in a firestorm and allegedly fired the head of a transgender union that was scheduled to go on strike on October 20. The person claimed to be a black man during pregnancy and requested anonymity for fear of online harassment. It is reported that the organization has been encouraging transgender employees and supporters to leave to protest Netflix’s handling of the Dave Chappelle special show (The Closer).
A former employee complained on Twitter: “All white people are interviewing the media and making public remarks on Twitter. As a result, the only person who is fired is a black man who has remained silent.”
In an interview with TheVerge, it said: “This fact is ridiculous and further shows that black transgender people are the main victims of this suppression.”
A Bloomberg report stated that the employee was fired for allegedly leaking indicators related to the Dave Chappelle special to the media, such as how much Netflix spent on “The Closer.”
Foreign media pointed out that although Netflix prides itself on transparency, employees of the company have been told that only by protecting internal data can it flourish. Finally, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed the news that the employee was fired:
“We fired an employee who shared confidential, commercially sensitive information outside the company. Although we know that this employee may have been disappointed and hurt by Netflix, maintaining a culture of trust and transparency is still part of our company. Core concept”.
