Research says Edge has better protection against malware phishing than Chrome and Firefox

It is reported that a study conducted by Cyber​​Ratings, an independent security research and evaluation agency, in the second quarter of this year showed that the Edge browser can provide better security protection capabilities than Chrome and Firefox.

The agency runs four attack tests a day for 20 days and observes the malware protection and phishing protection capabilities of these browsers.

For malware attacks, Edge successfully blocked 97.4% of all attacks and 97.7% of zero-day attacks; Chrome blocked 86.3% of attacks; Firefox blocked 81.8% of attacks.
Cyber​​Ratings also observed the defensive performance over a period of time. Microsoft Edge was able to withstand 97.7% of the attacks from the beginning of the attack, and 7 days later, Edge successfully blocked 97.9% of the attacks. Chrome and Firefox blocked 86.4% and 82.8% of threats respectively in the first hour. After 7 days, Chrome blocked 93.1% of the attacks, and Firefox blocked 88.7% of the attacks.
In addition, Microsoft Edge also provides better protection against phishing attacks, blocking 92.3% of phishing URLs, Chrome blocked 84.6%, and Firefox blocked 83.2%. Over time, Edge’s blocking rate rose to 95.1%, Chrome’s to 92.9%, and Firefox’s to 90.6%.
