Samsung will push for 8K Neo-QLED TV, QD-OLED TV only has 4K products

Samsung plans to launch a number of 8K MiniLED TVs equipped with the latest Neo QLED panels in 2022, as well as many 4K OLED and MiniLED TVs. Among them, OLED TV will have some panels from LG Display. The Elec reported that among Samsung’s many TVs next year, the 8K Neo QLED TV will be the highest priority and also the most high-end product.

 

These Neo QLED TVs will use MiniLED as the backlight source. Although Samsung’s own MicrOLED TV The Wall is still the top-tier in the market, the sales of these TVs are very, very small, so they cannot be regarded as consumer-grade products.

And the following will be 4K QD-OLED and OLED TVs, among which QD-OLED is the author’s most interested. This most Samsung pigeon technology for 2 years can finally meet with you, but this move that is not used on 8K TVs also means to a certain extent that Samsung will also be more experimenting with QD-OLED next year. As for pure OLED TVs, panels from LG Display will be used.

Interestingly, LG Display actually has a more high-end 8K OLED panel, but Samsung did not choose to launch an 8K OLED TV. The Elec said that this is because Samsung hopes to highlight Neo QLED and also position Neo QLED higher than OLED.

Finally, there is the 4K Neo QLED TV. These TVs will also use Samsung’s latest Neo QLED technology, but the resolution is only 4K. Obviously, Samsung’s positioning is also to highlight its 8K plus Neo QLED TV combination.

Samsung’s sales target for 2022 shows even more the positioning of 8k Neo QLED TVs. Samsung has set a target sales volume of 3 million units for 8k Neo QLED, 500,000 units for 4K QD-OLED TVs, and 1.5 million units for 4K OLED TVs. It is foreseeable that Samsung will push 8K TVs next year.
