Spotify is a genuine streaming music service platform, officially launched in Sweden in 2008. Recently, the platform announced that it has reached a cooperation with Shopify, and users can directly purchase products from related artists’ Shopify stores through the Spotify app.

In addition to making the existing Shopify stores of platform artists easier to access, this cooperation will also provide a new source of income for artists who have not yet created a store, and can attract those who have opened stores on other platforms to switch to the Shopify platform.

Shopify said that the platform has provided support for thousands of artists who are expanding their business beyond pure music and establishing their own brands.

At the same time, Shopify mentioned that its application ecosystem can also provide artists with new services, such as on-demand printing and discovery of new products. The platform can also help artists manage huge traffic when releasing new products.

As for the association issue, the artist needs to log in to the Spotify for Artists dashboard on the desktop, then enter the “Profile” tab, and click “Merch”. Artists can select three items from their Shopify store and display them on their profile interface. Currently, each artist can only be associated with one Shopify store account.

According to the editor, in order to encourage artists to register and link accounts, Shopify provides a 90-day free trial to all Spotify artists who register for the first time.

However, this feature is currently still in beta. Although all artists in the world can connect to their Shopify store, only users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States will see related products.

It is reported that this is not the first time Spotify has collaborated with other platforms to enable artists to promote merchandise through the app. Prior to this, Spotify has also cooperated with service providers including Merchbar, BandPage and Topspin.

Although the two platforms of Shopify and Spotify have different focuses, Shopify believes that the e-commerce platform is a supplement to various creators’ businesses, while Spotify’s focus is more on artists, but it has similar creator economics. interest.
