TikTok plans to launch online celebrity gourmet restaurants in the U.S., but only online orders and delivery to home
1 min readTikTok is planning to launch a new service to turn popular online food videos into meals that consumers can actually order and want to use. Bloomberg reported that the social platform is cooperating with Virtual Dining Concepts and Grubhub, and is scheduled to launch a takeaway restaurant based on the “TikTok Kitchen” brand in the United States next year. The restaurant menu will draw on the most popular food styles on TikTok, and interested people can enjoy it at home through the delivery service.
According to the plan, TikTok will begin in March, providing services in approximately 300 locations, and is expected to open more than 1,000 “TikTok Kitchen” restaurants by the end of 2022.
What’s even better is that TikTok creators will also get a share of sales and occupy an important position in the entire partnership.
It is reported that the first menu includes grilled feta pasta, crushed burgers, corn ribs, and pasta slices. Google reported that the former became the most searched dish in 2021 after being popular on TikTok.
TikTok Kitchen will also update the popular menu every quarter, but it is not clear whether the company will allow certain dishes to stay on the menu.
